This website has a really visually stimulating timeline that makes the history easier to understand. This website is http://rockmusictimeline.com. I really like this site because you can literally go year by year and find music that is important or relevant. The only issue I have with this site is that it classifies a lot of music in the rock category that I really wouldn't consider rock. Some examples of this are: Madonna, Natalie Merchant, and Whitney Houston. Some of the artists don't really have anything to do with rock in my opinion. You have to kind of navigate through that stuff which is kind of unfortunate.
